The signals transmitted by the DisplayPort interface consist of the data channel signals that transmit the image and the auxiliary channel signals that transmit image-related status and control information, specifically the DisplayPort data transmission main channel (Main Link), auxiliary channel (AUX Channel), and connection (Link Training).

Overview of the Display Interface

Primary Link: The primary link is a unidirectional, high-bandwidth, low-latency channel used for transmitting synchronized data streams such as uncompressed video and audio.

Auxiliary Channel (AUX CH): The auxiliary channel is a half-duplex, bidirectional channel used for link management and device control.

  1. The AUX channel in the DisplayPort connection enables bi-directional operation between the end device (e.g., Easync) and the PC (e.g., graphics card), realizing plug-and-play.
  2. Supports G-SynciNvidia) and FreeSync (AMD) technologies, allowing the graphics card to communicate directly with the monitor without complex operations.
  3. DisplayPort digitally connects the monitor to the computer and supports high transfer rates of up to 240 Hz.
  4. DisplayPort requires fewer cables than analogue connections because only one cable carries power and audio/video data.
  5. DisplayPort also has a Daisy Chain (Daisy Chai) feature that allows you to connect multiple monitors. In addition, DisplayPort’s other channels can be used for hardware such as cameras, touchscreens, microphones, and USB connections.
  6. DisplayPort supports higher resolutions and higher refresh rates than VGA, DVI, or HDMI.
  7. DisplayPort transmits video and audio signals with less compression than any other connection type.
  8. DisplayPort transfers data faster than other standards, so you can send large files faster.
  9. With the latest version of DisplayPort, transfer rates are up to 77.37 per second, 8K video is supported, and each colour channel has a 12-bit colour depth without compression.
